decoding human interaction

A POWERFUL APPROACH

Our programmes are suitable for leaders and coaches who want to become adept at reading behavioural patterns and being able to effect change in them. Our training will help you to understand your own natural behavioural tendencies and will support you in developing behavioural flexibility so that you are equipped for any environment.

Leaders

Our training will equip you with the skill to read behaviour within your organisation and learn how to change behavioural patterns to maximize personal and organisational performance. By understanding the source of dominant behavioural preferences – both day-to-day and when under pressure – you can gain command of your behaviour in a way which gives you an edge over others.

Coaches

Dialogix has trained hundreds of coaches and consultants worldwide in the art and science of behavioural change. All of our programmes are certified by the International Coaching Federation and are delivered by experts in the field of behavioural and communicative competency. Coaches who attend our programmes develop a clear framework for working with the behaviour they observe in their clients – both in their best and worst, most reactive, moments.

In our experience, the leaders we work with:

  • are more effective at leading through change
  • experience rapid promotion and have greater spheres of influence
  • are a safe pair of hands in a crisis
  • can adapt their leadership style to the demands of the environment
  • leave a positive legacy

In our experience, the coaches we work with:

  • end up with increased demand for their services
  • are considered highly-skilled and are the coaches that people reach to where others have failed
  • create the conditions for durable change in individuals and groups
  • develop relationships premised on trust, with clients trusting them to work in the most sensitive and confidential arenas

The evidence

%
said they could ‘read the room’ more effectively and identify behavioural patterns with more ease

%
said they could identify stuck patterns of behaviour in groups and change them

%
said they thought this was a valuable framework for leaders to understand and apply

%
said they would recommend the approach to others

Programmes and training

We offer three programmes which teach the skills required to work effectively with the behaviours which show up in human interaction. These programmes are suitable for anyone wanting to understand how to apply this framework. No prior experience is required. Some participants may choose to do all three programmes and packages are available below if you want to reserve a place on more than one programme at the point of booking.

This programme provides participants with a framework to understand the DNA of human interaction – ranging from day-to-day communication, through to the behaviours that emerge when people are placed under pressure.

Using ‘The Dialogix Model’© we will equip you with the skills to be able to get beneath the surface of deeply-engrained organisational behaviours. You will learn how to deconstruct the hidden dynamics of group interaction and link them to observable behaviours in the room – creating an opportunity to recognise and change stuck patterns of behaviour that are not working. Our approach, the science of which is based on 50 years of clinical research, releases the most repetitive, unhelpful behavioural patterns, creating more powerful, effective and high-performing teams and individuals.

By deconstructing the invisible structures that sit behind our most volatile reactions, participants will also explore what drives human behaviour in crisis. Through exploration of the role of story and identity, you will learn how to make sense of – and change – the most disruptive patterns of behaviour that can erupt without warning.

As we are working with behaviours, our programmes run as ‘live learning laboratories’.

This programme helps participants develop skills in:
  • BEHAVIOURAL ANALYSIS

Explore how your own behavioural preferences affect how you show up and engage with others as well as developing the ability to read a room and understand the invisible structures driving observable behaviour

  • INTERVENTION DESIGN

Learn how to identify stuck behavioural patterns and design interventions to change unhelpful patterns of behaviour. Develop the ability to guide groups successfully through dialogue processes.

  • BEHAVIOURS UNDER PRESSURE

An introduction to what drives human behaviour in crisis and how to make sense of behaviours that emerge whilst individuals and teams are under pressure. Develop the ability to lower the stakes for yourself using core principles for managing reactivity.

Are you truly in command of your behaviour when the stakes are raised and pressure starts to build? Do you know what triggers this behaviour and what to do about it? Would you recognise it in others and be able to work with it in teams? This programme offers leaders and coaches the opportunity to look, through the Dialogix Model, at the powerful, but invisible forces which drive our face to face interaction when the stakes are high.

By deconstructing the structures that sit behind our reactions, it becomes possible to understand and change the disruptive patterns of behaviour that can erupt without warning – ultimately explaining an individual’s best and worst behaviour; how they interpret others and the clashes they are likely to encounter.

As we are working with behaviours, our programmes run as ‘live learning laboratories’.

In this programme participants will learn how to:
  • READ REACTIVE BEHAVIOUR

Learn how to identify and read different ways in which reactivity can show up. Understand what part our individual ‘triggers’ play in creating the conditions for this behaviour to emerge.

  • DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO LOWER THE STAKES

Learn the core principles for lowering the stakes both for yourself and with others. Be able to intervene in group settings when behavioural patterns lead to clash and levels of judgment are heightened.

  • GAUGE AN ORGANISATION’S MORAL COMPASS

Understand the importance of moral sensitivity and the mechanisms through which moral corruption can take place at an organisational level. Learn what steps to take when you identify those mechanisms within an organisation.

This programme focuses on learning how to work with an individual’s most engrained behaviour by exploring the role that their childhood story plays in driving that behaviour. This is the accompanying training for the book ‘Where Did You Learn to Behave Like That?’ and individuals interested in becoming a Story Guide should attend this programme.

Many coaches describe how they feel unprepared to work with behaviour emanating from a leader’s childhood story, or they do so purely instinctively. Unless somebody is therapeutically trained, they may not have suitable models for doing work of this kind, or sense a gap that results in them feeling ill-equipped to do so.

This programme will bridge that gap. It provides a model for embarking on childhood story work with a leader, including the work that practitioners must do on their own childhood stories, before engaging deeply in childhood story work with clients. It does so by taking you deep into the inner processes of working with the impact of childhood stories in an appropriate and skillful way.

As we are working with behaviours, our programmes run as ‘live learning laboratories’.

In this programme participants will learn how:
  • SOLICIT THE CHILDHOOD STORY

Learn how to unearth and work effectively with the client’s “Immutable Childhood Story” through the lens of inconvenient truths, story archetypes and pathways

  • IDENTIFY THE NARRATIVE

Understand the internal narrative, how it is formed and the impact that it has. You will also learn how to connect observable behaviours with components of the story and narrative

  • GAIN COMMAND OF THE STORY & WRITE A NEW NARRATIVE

Help others to separate the voice of the child from the adult, designing skillful interventions which help them gain command of the old internal narrative, so that it no longer does harm, and, gradually, write a new internal narrative.
